The property is owned by regional hotel group YTC Hotels, part of the YTC Group, which also owns the neighbouring Peninsular Hotel and Menara Peninsular Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In February, the YTC Group put up the collective sale of Excelsior Hotel and a shopping centre with a reserve price of $458 million and appointed Cushman & Wakefield as the marketing agent. The collective sale tender closed on April 18 with no successful bids.

The move to further entrench its presence in the city-state is set to double down Wyndham’s focus on its distinctive, upscale, midscale, lifestyle and value brands.
