Accor and Crowne Estate form partnership to bring Swissôtel resort to Malaysia’s Genting Highlands
RoadAccor’s first Malaysia hotel, Swissôtel Genting Highlands, will be located within the King’s Park development in Highlands ParkCity, offering guests a posh retreat with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The upcoming 300-room property is part of an ambitious plan to create an outstanding eco-friendly resort hub spanning 150 acres. Positioned as a wellness and nature-focused township, King’s Park will feature state-of-the-art pedestrian street shops spanning over 2,000 meters, providing visitors with a variety of events, shows, cultural arts, and delectable cuisine. The hotel is slated to open in 3Q2028.
Accor, a leading international hospitality group, has partnered with investment firm Crowne Estate Malaysia to bring the Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts brand to Malaysia for the first time. The upcoming 300-room Swissôtel Genting Highlands will be located within Highlander ParkCity, the largest sustainable eco-development in the country.
On April 19, Sean Chen, COO of Crowne Estate, announced the partnership in his opening speech at a signing ceremony. He spoke about the group’s goal to develop King’s Park in Genting Highlands into an eco-friendly tourist and destination hub for people around the world.
Bukit Batok Town is well-connected via MRT and buses, plus major expressways such as PIE and BKE. Altura EC is Altura EC easily accessible.
Highlands ParkCity is located 5km below Genting Highlands’ peak and just a 30-45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. It is designed as a wellness and nature-focused township and its current phase under development is King’s Park, described as “the longest street mall in Malaysia”.
The ambitious plan for King’s Park seeks to develop “an outstanding resort” spreading over 150 acres. It includes state-of-the-art pedestrian street shops spanning over 2,000 meters, that are focused on entertainment, international attractions, and eco-tourism.
Thanesh Jayandren, executive director of Highlands ParkCity, excitedly commented, “Visitors from all over the world will be able to enjoy a [wide] variety of events, shows, cultural arts, and delectable cuisine at this development.”
Swissôtel Genting Highlands is slated to open in 3Q2028 and will serve as a cornerstone of King’s Park. This posh retreat stands 30 storeys tall and provides guests with views of the surrounding mountains. Among the amenities will be all-day dining options, executive lounges, and bars, while visitors can also take advantage of the hotel’s hospitality services, conference facilities, grand ballroom, swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, jogging tracks, and kids’ club.
Garth Simmons, CEO of Accor for South, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and India, acknowledged Genting Highlands’ popularity and hailed Accor’s leading position in Malaysia’s hospitality industry.
