Accor and Crowne Estate form partnership to bring Swissôtel resort to Malaysia’s Genting Highlands

RoadAccor’s first Malaysia hotel, Swissôtel Genting Highlands, will be located within the King’s Park development in Highlands ParkCity, offering guests a posh retreat with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The upcoming 300-room property is part of an ambitious plan to create an outstanding eco-friendly resort hub spanning 150 acres. Positioned as a wellness and nature-focused township, King’s Park will feature state-of-the-art pedestrian street shops spanning over 2,000 meters, providing visitors with a variety of events, shows, cultural arts, and delectable cuisine. The hotel is slated to open in 3Q2028.

UOB to invest more than $500 mil into innovation centre within JTC’s Punggol Digital District

UOB is investing more than $500 million to build its new global technology and innovation centre in Punggol Digital District (PDD), a 50ha business park and mixed-use space developed by JTC. Targeted to be completed by late 2026, the centre will be home to UOB’s digital platform, UOB TMRW, and The FinLab, an accelerator focused on digitalisation and sustainability across the region. Joining UOB in the PDD’s ecosystem are Delteq and Target Media Culcreative (TMCC).

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is set to have its new campus in PDD, with 11,000 students and 500 academic staff. UOB has signed a MOU with SIT to set up a Fintech Innovation Lab and continued its existing support to SIT’s Work-Study Degree programmes.

Elke Kornalijnslijper has been appointed as the new Head of Sustainability Consulting for JLL’s Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, she will be responsible for delivering sustainability advice and solutions for JLL’s client base in the area and managing a team of 100 real estate sustainability experts.

Kornalijnslijper’s new role will include helping JLL’s occupier and investor clients to identify gaps, risks and opportunities in existing sustainability strategies in their portfolios. She will also be working to expand JLL’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings services across the region. This will involve maturing real estate portfolio strategies, retrofitting projects for existing developments, energy optimisation, and other value-add consulting services such as reporting, certification and compliance.
